Za'atar Spiced Roasted Turnips
6 cups rutabaga, peeled and chopped into large chunks
1/4 cup olive oil or melted ghee
2-3 Tbsp za’atar - see below
1 tsp fine Himalayan sea salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
Method: Preheat oven to 400-degrees.
Combine all ingredients in a large roasting pan and toss together to coat evely with oil and seasonings.
Roast until fork tender and edges are golden brown.
1/4 cup sumac
2 tablespoons thyme
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
2 tablespoons marjoram
2 tablespoons dried oregano
Combine all together in a small glass jar. Shake to combine. Use like some people use hot sauce (translation: It’s good on EVERYTHING!!!)
